Compass Lexecon is internationally recognized as a leading economic and financial consulting firm. With professionals in 20 offices around the world, Compass Lexecon offers an unmatched global perspective to our clients and a stimulating thought-provoking workplace for our consultants.

About the Opportunity:
Our Beijing office is currently recruiting 1-2 interns for an immediate start. The position demands strong ability to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, knowledge of or interest in economics, and a broad range of research skills. Interns are involved in nearly all aspects of project work, interacting closely with other analysts and supervisors in collecting information, analyzing data, and preparing client presentations. Interns are also expected to work with team members located in other Compass Lexecon offices in US and EU. Through their involvement, interns gain a comprehensive understanding of the industries and public policy issues relevant to the projects we work on. As skills and competencies develop, there will be greater opportunity for independent work.

Ideal candidates would hold (or nearly complete) a bachelor's or master's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a quantitative field. We seek candidates who possess strong academic backgrounds. Demonstration of quantitative skills, writing ability in both Chinese and English, and qualitative research skills are required. Knowledge of Excel and statistical programming packages such as STATA or SAS are preferred. Candidates must be highly motivated, analytical, detail-oriented, able to work independently and in teams, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

The internship is expected to last for six months (but could be shorter or longer depending on the intern's specific situation and the needs of the firm). Interns are expected to be able to work at least 4 days per week during the internship.

Upon satisfactory completion of the internship, a full-time job offer may be extended to the intern. Compensation and benefits are competitive with other major economic consulting firms.
