Position Summary

The Strategic Communications segment of FTI Consulting is seeking to hire a Business Development Director in China . This position will lead and drive the segment's business development strategy, as well as its offerings, to potential clients and business partners in the markets. The candidate should have a proven ability to to build and grow networks, generate and follow-up on leads, and drive the awareness of the firm's Strategic Communications practice offerings. Ideally, the candidate should also have a strong track record in marketing, business development and/or sales within professional services firms, whilst at the same time has experience and/or interest to develop further expertise in leveraging communications as an effective strategy and a means to deliver real impact on business outcomes, which are most critical in today's complex global business environment. . In addition, the candidate should have a vision to act as a facilitator and conveyor to bring the growing opportunities in key industries such as financial, technology and healthcare, which are also core to FTI Consulting's overall sector expertise, and collaborate closely with the firrm's global network to further opportunities. The candidate should be mature, results-oriented, and prepared to learn and utilise new approaches to communications as part of a leading global business consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the firm's Strategic Communications segment's China business development function
  • Derive and implement the segment's business development strategy in collaboration with the leadership team
  • Build, maintain and expand a network of contacts in China which would include but not exclusive to multinational companies, domestic firms, business partners and other third-parties to develop leads
  • Lead the business development efforts such as credentials preparation, opportunities follow-through, and team resources coordination
  • Plan and implement marketing and promotional activities to the segment in China
  • Collaborate with the broader global Strategic Communication segment network as well as the firm's other segments to further business development opportunities
  • Collaborate with the firm's regional and local marketing teams to amplify business development and awareness building efforts
  • Understands and lives by FTI's values, Code of Ethics and the Strategic Communications Rules of Practice, and works with junior staff to embed these concepts within the firm's culture. Key Requirements

  • Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese, as well as in English.
  • University degree or higher.
  • Business development, marketing and/or sales experiences in professional services firms or agencies .
  • Have accumulated a strong network of contacts and resources in China suited for the responsibilities as described above
  • Solid business development, lead generation and marketing skills
  • Excellent presentation and project management skills
  • Strong inter-personal skills to enable effective work relationships with counterparts in China, within the region and globally
  • Ability to work independently and management own time
  • Over 6 years of relevant business development and marketing experiences
  • New business development skills as part of a team(strategy, lead generation, proposal development, etc.).
